CSB to monitor Health Ministry staff attendance

ManamaThe attendance monitoring system of Health Ministry will be linked to that of the Civil Service Bureau (CSB), starting August 1, it was announced.

This means that automatic salary deductions will be activated for employees who show up late to work or leave early before official duty hours end.

According to a circular issued by Human Resources and Services Undersecretary in Health Ministry, the electronic attendance system in the ministry “ITAAC” will be automatically linked with CSB’s “HORISON” system, starting August 1.

“Salary deductions will be automatically activated for absence, late and attendance and early dismissal,” the circular mentioned.

The document, which was leaked on the internet, was issued on July 9. It also read, “All must adhere to working hours and biometric system to avoid any salary deductions.”

The ministry issued similar directives last February, banning the use of mobile phones, calling or texting, during duty hours. The announcement came to “ensure the quality of healthcare services in the Kingdom”.
