No TRA hand in reducing sim validity to 100 days
Manama : Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has denied its involvement in the recent policy changes implemented by telecom service providers in the Kingdom.
All three telecom service providers changed its policy on prepaid line validity by restricting the maximum validity that can be purchased to 100 days. Earlier, consumers received up to a year of validity when they purchased mobile credit of BD20 or BD25. However, after the changes, consumers will only receive 100 days of validity when they top up.
Representatives from the telecom companies had informed DT News that the change was made based on a TRA decision. However, in a statement sent to DT News yesterday, TRA clarified that it did not make the call.
