Paralysed man repatriated home; Family seeking help for treatment
Manama : An Indian expatriate, who suffered a life-threatening stroke, has been flown back to his home country for further treatment.
Sunil Kumar Kumaravelu Asri, 46, now in a paralysed state, was fighting for his life in the Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) after developing a clot in his brain.
He was flown to India on Tuesday. Doctors at SMC earlier confirmed that he suffered a stroke, which also resulted in a clot in his brain.
Sunil Kumar, a pump operator by profession, was brought to SMC on 29 May with a severe headache and vomiting, followed by a loss of consciousness.
His family have issued a plea for help to raise the money needed to pay for his treatment.
An Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF) volunteer told DT News, “Sunil Kumar has been admitted to a hospital there. But his family is still awaiting a bed in the Intensive Care Unit.”
“His condition is getting worse day-by-day and nothing much can be done,” he added.
“We are still generating funds to help Sunil, as he is the only provider for his family.”
“We request people to come forward and donate generously to help him and his family live a better life,” the volunteer added. To help Sunil contact Sudheer Thirunilat on 39461746 or call DT News for account details of Sunil’s Wife.
