Fifth ‘Khalid bin Hamad League’ begins today

Manama : The Fifth Edition of Khalid bin Hamad League for Youth Centres, People with Disabilities and Girls kicks off today under the theme #Generations_Meeting at Khalifa Sports City Hall and continues until September 14, Under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Honorary President of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities.

Shaikh Khalid expressed his pleasure to the wide welcoming received by the tournament from youth centres and clubs that are not under the umbrella of Bahrain Football Association (BFA), as well as teams and establishments that are concerned with people with disabilities and girls’ teams.

Shaikh Khalid also expressed his support of Bahraini youth, highlighting their skills and would reflect positively on the local footballing talents.

Shaikh Khalid thanked the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, spearheaded by Minister of Sports Al Jowder and his efforts to support initiatives aimed at enabling the youth and invest in their talents and energies and supporting companies.

Khalifa Sports City Hall will host four matches today on the first day of the league, with title-holders Safra Youth Centre play against Muharraq Youth Centre at 5pm, followed by Buhair against Buri, Karzakhan and Abu Saiba  and Dumistan with Naim.
