Bahrain’s Borut Bozic fastest on final stage

Manama : Bahrain’s Merida Pro Cycling Team rider, Slovenian, Borut Bozic (two hours 25 minutes 39 minutes), was classified as sixth on the concluding day yesterday of the 21st and final stage of the 104th Tour de France, with the remaining (167) riders covering a 103km flat course from Montgeron to the Champs-Elysees in the French capital Paris.

Bozic recorded the same time as the stage winner, Netherlands Dylan Groenewegan of Team Lotto NL - Jumbo.

Five other of Bahrain’s six riders left in the tour were classified in the with stage with the same time of the stage winner in the following order - Sonny Colbrelli (12th, Italy), Yukiya Arashiro (28th, Japan), Gregor Bole (35th, Slovenia), Javier Moreno (73rd, Spain) and Janez Brajkovic (76th, Slovenia) and the other finisher was Tsgabu Grmay (Ethiopia, 149th, +2:05).

Bahrain’s eighth team member Oldrej Cink from the Czech Republic pulled out on the 18th stage and ninth team member Spaniard Ion Izaguirre withdrew on the opening stage in Dusseldorf, Germany after suffering a lumbar fracture of the lower spine.
