Benefit from Flexi Work Permits, says Indian Ambassador

ManamaIndian Ambassador Alok Kumar Sinha yesterday urged workers here to correct their legal status by making use of the newly issued flexible work permits.

Describing the new permits as being “fair”, the Ambassador also praised the care given to the Indian community by the Kingdom.

The Ambassador said this while visiting the Sitra branch of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, where he was received by CEO and National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons Chairman Ausamah Al Absi.

Al Absi explained to Alok Kumar Sinha the process required for obtaining the permits and affirmed that “the permits serve expats and citizens alike.”

The Ambassador witnessed the process of granting permits to Indian applicants and called upon irregular Indian residents to make use of the opportunity.

LMRA started issuing the long-awaited flexible work permits on Sunday, in a bid to end irregular employment issues in the Kingdom.
