Bahrain minister in Forbes most powerful ME list

Manama : Bahrain’s Minister of Health Faeqa bint Saeed Al-Saleh has been ranked 9th among the most powerful Arab Women in Government in the Middle East, Forbes said in a statement. 

UAE’s Minister of State for Tolerance Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi tops the Forbes’ annual ranking of 10 most powerful Arab Women in Government in 2017. 

Al Qasimi is followed by Egypt’s Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr in the second position and Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity Ghada Wali in the third spot. 

Al-Saleh was appointed as Bahrain’s Minister of Health in October 2015. Prior to that she served as the Minister of Social Development from December 2014. Before that she worked as the Assistant Secretary General of the League of Arab States Head of Social Affairs Sector, where she was in-charge of supervising the Technical Secretariats of the Arab Ministerial Councils. Al-Saleh holds a Masters’ in Arts in library and information studies from the University of London, U.K.
