Puppies adopted

ManamaFollowing an adoption plea that went viral, an animal lover in Bahrain has stepped up to accept the nine puppies that were living in a tiny apartment with their owner.

DT News has reported that Indra, the Nepalese animal lover who works as a building watchman, has been taking care of a female dog and its eight puppies. All of nine dogs were living in his one bedroom apartment but he was finding it challenging to accommodate them.

“The female dog has been with me for the past one year. It came in the vicinity of the building where I work, looking for food. I offered her food and she kept coming back and she has been with me ever since. A month ago she gave birth to these puppies so I decided to help the puppies as well,” he said, adding, “I have always been an animal lover, and loves dogs.”

Several animal lovers answered his call made on Friday, showing up at his apartment in hopes of saving the furry lives.

“The man I gave away the dogs is trustworthy and he is very happy to receive them,” Indra said adding: “I am sure that they will be fine under his care.”

The puppies now need a bigger house and better care, “so I had to give them away,” Indra said.

However, the mother dog is still staying with Indra, who has been with him for the past one year.

“This is not bad news because I have been taking care of her for over a year and I am happy to continue caring her,” he said.

John, who adopted the puppies, said that his intention is to give the puppies a better life.

“When I came to know about the situation, I knew that I could step in and help,” he said.

“I live in a villa that is spacious enough to accommodate them and my kids are also very happy that I have brought home these puppies,” he added.
