Futsal League: Al Daih Youth beat North Selha 2-1
Manama : Al Daih Youth Centre defeated North Selha Youth Centre 2-1 thanks to its goalkeeper Ahmed Abdul Ameer in a Group 6 match of the fifth day of preliminary round matches in the Fifth Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League for Youth Centres, People with Disabilities and Girls (Khalid 5) on Friday at the Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town.
In Group 7 action, Zallaq and Al Janoob played out a 1-1 draw with Zallaq striker Mohammed Atiya adjudged as man of the match, while in the same group Saar thrashed Al Jasra 6-1 thanks to a fine contribution by man of the match Bashar Abdul Samad.
Group 8 action saw Hamad Town and Bu Quwah play out a thrilling 3-3 draw with Salman Abdul Redha of the latter nominated as player of the match.
The tournament is being played under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Honorary President of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities and organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Media Office of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, under the slogan #Generations_Meeting.
The league which started on July 24 and continues until September 14, features 59 teams, divided into 36 youth centres teams, 9 unregistered clubs, 8 teams of people with disabilities institutions and 6 girls teams.
