Bahrain Minister visits Sitra, Nabih Saleh
Manama : Youth and Sports Affairs Minister, Hisham Al-Jowdar, yesterday visited the villages of Sitra and Nabih Saleh as per the directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa to identify and fulfil the needs of various governorates in the Kingdom.
During the visit, Al Jowder was accompanied by MP Dr Majeed Al-Asfoor, Capital Trustees’ Board Chairman, Mohammed Al-Khuzae, Capital Trustees’ Board member, Dr Maha Al-Shehab, and a number of the Youth and Sports Affairs Ministry’s officials.
During his discussion with the Sitra Club chairman, members and citizens, Al-Jowdar proposed holding summer sports, cultural and entertainment activities to attract youth and also directed the club’s woman committee to hold a meeting for women in Sitra.
Affirming the leadership’s strong belief that “youth are the driving engine of development and investment in the Kingdom”, the minister further required the Club to hold a family festival during the National Day.
The meeting also focused on ways to increase the club’s revenues through supporting its investment
projects.
During his visit to Nabih Saleh Club, Al Jowder urged the youngsters there to participate effectively in the sports programmes developed by the Ministry.
Nabih Saleh Club houses two volleyball sports halls, a three-storey administrative building with various service facilities and offices at a total cost of BD 413,000.
MP Majeed Al-Asfoor called on the Sitra and Nabih Saleh clubs to double their efforts and hold more activities and programmes to take full advantage of the sporting facilities.
