Salwa makes Bahrain proud
Manama : Bahrain’s Salwa Eid Naser clinched a silver medal after clocking 50.06 seconds to post a third consecutive national record in the final of the women’s 400 metres at the 16th IAAF World Championships last night in London.
She had previously broken the national record in the heat stages and then the semi-final.
Coming in first for goal was American Phyllis Francis (49.92) and a personal best, with bronze going to compatriot Allyson Felix (50.08).
The other positions from fourth to eight respectively were: Shaunae Miller-Uibo (Bahamas, 50.49), Shericka Jackson (Jamaica, 50.76), Stephane Anne McPherson (Jamaica, 50:86), Kabange Mupopo (Zambia, 51.15), Novtene Williams-Mills (Jamaica, 51.48).
