Khalid bin Hamad Theatre Festival workshops begin
Manama : As part of the preparations for the third edition of Khalid bin Hamad Youth Theatre Award Festival for National Clubs, Youth Centres and People with Disabilities, several workshops were held at different art and cultural centres.
Successfully organised for the third consecutive year, the festival will be held from October 5 to 17 at the Muharraq Model Youth Centre, with the large and active participation of national clubs, youth centres and people with disabilities.
The event will be held under the patronage of His Highness, Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association and Honourary President of the Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation
The organising committee had announced earlier that this year’s edition will be held under the theme #Let’s_Plant_A_Smile and will introduce several workshops and additional activities.
The first workshop, titled “Do We Need Theatres?”, was held at the Family of Writers and Authors headquarters in Zinj.
The workshop was attended by a number of Bahraini actors and actresses, intellectuals, directors, authors and chief guests including Omar Abdulaziz Bukamal the Head of the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and Member of the Supreme Organising Committee. It was addressed by Dr Rashid Najim and Safa Al-Alawi.
Jamal Al Ghailan, the Director of the Festival, said the organising committee plans to hold several workshops between August 20 to 30, calling upon the participants in to attend and benefit from the workshops.
