Buri Club, Muharraq play out exciting 4-4 draw

Manama Buri Club and Muharraq Youth Centre played out an exciting 4-4 in the latest matches of Group 1 in Fifth Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League for Youth Centres, People with Disabilities and Girls (Khalid 5) at the Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town.

The man of the match was Muharraq’s Mohammed Abdul Aziz, with the result seeing Safrah Youth Centre and Buri Club qualifying for the knockout phase.

In another Group 1 match, Al Buhair edged out Abu Saiba 4-3 with Rashid Al Rowaie the man of the match for the winning team.

Group 2 saw Dumistan and Al Qurayya draw 3-3 with the former having lots of supporters cheering them on.

The man of the match was Ali Ahmed for Al Qurayya, but for Dumistan its goalkeeper Hassan Jaafar had to be substituted after sustaining a minor injury when he was hit in the face following a penalty kick.

In another match of the same group, Naim ran out 5-0 winners over East Riffa, with Ali Hussain of the victors the man of the match.

The second week question of Khalid 5 social media contest was uploaded on the league’s Instagram pages. The question is who was the top scorer of last year’s edition of the league. Bahrain National Football Team Player Abdul-Wahab Al-Malood appeared in the video and asked the question and the draw for the lucky winner will be held on Sunday.

This tournament is being played under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Honorary President of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities and organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Media Office of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, under the slogan #Generations_Meeting.

It started on July 24 and continues until September 14 and features 59 teams, divided into 36 youth centres teams, 9 unregistered clubs, 8 teams of people with disabilities institutions and 6 girls teams.

Today schedule: (5pm) Group 4: Al Wusta vs Jurdab. (6pm) Group 4: Sadad vs Jidhafs. (7pm) Group 4: Karranah vs Al Dair. (8pm) Group 5: Shakhoora vs Aali.
