Sanad Youth strengthen first position

ManamaSanad Youth Centre strengthened its first position in Group 5 after defeating Al Qadisiya Youth Centre by 5-1 to move on to seven points in the latest matches of the Fifth Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League for Youth Centres, People with Disabilities and Girls (Khalid 5) at the Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town, with the man of the match nominated as Rashid Jamal for the winning team.

The match also saw Jamal score a spectacular goal as he booted the ball upfield from his own penalty area into the Al Qadisiya goal.

In another Group 5 match, Busaiteen against the odds beat South Sehla 3-1 victory with Ahmed Al Ansari of Busaiteen the man of the match.

Group 6 action, Sanabis were victorious over Mugaba 4-2 with Mohammed Abdul Kareem for Sanabis the man of the match and Isa Town edged Al Daih 3-2 with Abdulla Al Arabi of the winning team the man of the match.

The organising committee represented by Khalid 5 Director Ali Al-Arabi, in efforts to encourage local teams to take part in such competitions, honoured the Al Daih Youth Centre as the first awardee and announced this will continue until the final day of the preliminary stages of the league on Friday.

Meanwhile, Adel A Marzooqi, Coach of Bahrain’s National Futsal Team has been attending the matches on a daily basis and looking to discover new Bahraini talents, who could wear the national team jersey in the future.

Al-Marzooqi confirmed the national team has begun its preparations for the 2018 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Futsal Championship qualifications, to be held in Bangkok, Thailand in October, with the finals set for February next year in Chinese Taipei.
