Superb victory for Team Challenge

ManamaTeam Challenge defeated Team Will with a superb 12-0 victory on the second day of matches in the girls’ tournament of the Fifth Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League for Youth Centres, People with Disabilities and Girls (Khalid 5) at the Khalifa Sports City Hall in Isa Town.

However, Team Will overcome their loss in their second match in the day against Team Hope and won by 10-0, while Team Hope qualified for the semi-finals of the tournament despite their defeat in their first match as they beat Team Challenge 3-1 to top group one and qualify for the semi-finals.

Three players were honoured for their exceptional performances that lead to their teams’ victory. The players were Fatima Hussain of Team Challenge, Alyaa Jumaa of Team Will and Reem Al-Shalaan of Team Hope.

The latest dignitaries to visit the league were Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al-Khalifa, Bahrain Olympic Committee Board of Directors Member and Head of the Woman and Sports Committee in the Bahrain Olympic Committee and Dr. Sawsan Taqawi, Member of the Shura Council.

They were received by Omar Abdulaziz Bukamal the Head of the Media Office of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and member of the organising committee and other members.

This tournament is being played under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Honorary President of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities and organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Media Office of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, under the slogan #Generations_Meeting.

It started on July 24 and continues until September 14 and features 59 teams, divided into 36 youth centres teams, 9 unregistered clubs, 8 teams of people with disabilities institutions and 6 girls teams.
