Unclaimed vehicles to be auctioned in Bahrain
Manama : Capital General Secretariat (formerly municipality) has announced that 110 abandoned vehicles that were removed from the Capital Governorate would be sold off in public auction if their owners fail to pay up the fines and collect the vehicles before the end of this month.
“The vehicles were removed (from the Capital Governorate) in accordance with the provisions of Article 14 of the Public Road Occupancy Law issued by Decree 2 of 1996 and its Executive Regulations,” the secretariat said.
It said in a statement issued recently that the owners of the vehicles should receive them before August 30.
“Owners should visit the Cleaning Department at the secretariat’s offices near the Comprehensive Municipal Center in Tubli, after completing the necessary financial and administrative requirements.
The owners should present the necessary documents to prove ownership of the vehicles, otherwise, the secretariat will sell it at the public auction,” the secretariat mentioned in its statement, adding that the amount collected from the sale of the vehicles will be added to the funds of the secretariat.
The secretariat periodically announces that it has removed abandoned vehicles in residential and commercial areas. This is part of the procedures of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry in all governorates.
