Team Bahrain in South Africa to compete African Open

Manama : Bahrain’s amateur Mixed Martial Arts team has left for South Africa to compete in the First African Open Amateur Mixed Martial Arts competition, organised by the International Federation of Mixed Martial Arts starting today and concluding on September 2.

The delegation includes an administrative and nutrition specialist, coach Rinat Oboohamd and six fighters including Hussein Ayad. This is the third participation by the team this year after previously taking part in the European Open Amateur Championship in the Bulgarian capital Sofia , during which Hussein Ayad won a bronze and in Singapore in June.

Walid Khaled Sayar, Secretary General of the Bahrain Federation of Mixed Martial Arts BMMAF said, “This participation is within the programme of international events to compete in and promote Bahrain in the sport at international level.”
