Bahrain Swimming Association launches swimming events

ManamaBahrain Swimming Association (BSA) has unveiled a series of pioneering training programmes that are part of its new strategy to expand water sports in the Kingdom and the latest techniques to promote and attract more swimmers.

Registration for four major events has already begun and will continue until September 18 and the programme is open for all residents.

Categories are 4-12 years boys and 4-9 years girls training scheme, in addition to 12-16 years talents identification programme, and 17 and above elite programme.

BSA President Shaikh Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa thanked  Supreme Council for Youth & Sport Chairman, Bahrain Olympic  Committee President & Royal Charity Organisation (RCO) Chairman HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, for his continued support to the association programmers, and stressed the board keenness to executive an all new strategy aimed to attract large number of talents.

On his part, BSA general secretary and technical supervisor Faisal Swar said the board is working hard to implement the recently-launched strategy in line with the directives of Shaikh Mohammed.

Fisal Swar added that a number of objectives and initiatives are included in this new strategy, which would contribute to the development of the BSA activities by bringing a series of domestic competitions, including open water events and the national day championship.

In the same context, Swar expressed gratitude to the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports as well as the Bahrain Olympic Committee for supporting swimming activities.

He also stressed that the association is one of the first to follow the new strategy to improving self-income resources, which is encouraged by the Bahrain Olympic Committee under the chairmanship of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

Entry fee is BD20 for the children programme, BD25 for the talents identification programme and BD40 for the elite program.
