Futsal league Semi-finalists settled

ManamaSanad Youth Centre defeated Ras Rumman Youth Centre 5-3 in the quarter finals of the Fifth Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League for Youth Centres, People with Disabilities and Girls at the Khalifa Sports City Hall in Isa Town.

After trailing 3-0, Sanad fought back thanks to Mohammed Ibrahim, Raed Baba and Ali Abdul-Aziz to turn tables on the opposition.

Muharraq also advanced with a 3-2 win over South Sehla in a penalty shoot-out after both teams ended the match at 0-0.

Penalty shootouts also determined the winner of the third match of the day, when Jidhafs beat Hamad Town Youth Centre 2-1 and the final match saw Bu Quwah knock out Al Naeem Youth Centre after a 7-6 win.

In the semi-finals, Muharraq will take on Jidhafs and Sanad with Bu Quwah.

The semi-finals of the girls’ tournament will be held today, with Team Will against Team Giving at 5pm and Team Determination and Team Hope at 6pm.

Both winners will place each other in the final match of the tournament on September 14.

Ahmed Qarata, Member of the House of Representatives, Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Cycling Association and Dr. Malallah Al-Hammadi a well known consultant expressed their pleasure to attend the event.

These officials attended some of the matches and were received by Shaikh Saqr bin Salman Al-Khalifa, Assistant Undersecretary of Authorities and Youth Centres and members of the organising committee. They visited the photo gallery organised on the side-lines of the league and met with the participating teams and referees.
