GPCA Fertiliser Convention begins

Manama : The two-day eighth annual Gulf Petrochemical and Chemicals Association (GPCA) Conference begins today in Bahrain at the Ritz Carlton Bahrain Hotel and Spa.  

Around 300 participants from all over the world are expected to participated in the annual event, which brings together key industry figures, fertiliser consumers and government representatives to exchange information, explore and discuss key issues related to food security and long-term strategies. 

Various work papers covering current and future developments in global markets, presentation of the latest technologies in the industry and other topics related to the theme of the conference will be discussed.

The accompanying exhibition will include participation of fertiliser producers, contractors, related industrial technology companies and advisory institutions specialising in the fertiliser industry and the markets. The event, being organised in the Kingdom for the first time, is held under the patronage of Minister of Oil Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa. 

Thirty students from local and GCC universities, specially invited to the event, will attend a workshop to learn more about the vital role played by the fertiliser industry worldwide and to create future leaders. The participants will also visit GPIC.

The event is being organised by the GPCA in cooperation with Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) and in coordination with the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA).
