Prosecution refers accused Bahraini man to Psychiatric Hospital
Manama : The Bahraini man who was recently arrested for going on a stabbing spree in Riffa, causing multiple injuries to pedestrians has been referred to the Psychiatric Hospital.
According to Southern Governorate Police General Director Colonel Mubarak Al Merri, the suspect was arrested for stabbing several passers-by using a sharp instrument.
The man, who’s in his early fifties, was referred to the Public Prosecution, which interrogated him and ordered the accused to consult the Psychiatric Hospital considering his mental condition.
According to sources, the suspect recently assaulted five people including four children in East Riffa.
The man’s criminal record also showed that he had committed several felonies such as assault, insult and drug abuse.
However, the prosecution’s investigations will continue until the case is referred to the criminal court.
