Saudi Arab Rangers beat Emirates Hurricane

Manama : Saudi Arab Rangers defeated Emirates Hurricane by five wickets yesterday in the eighth match of the Arabian Cricket Carnival T20 2017 at the Bahrain National Stadium in Riffa.

Batting first, Emirates Hurricane managed 176 for nine in its 20 overs with the main scorer being Kapil Yadav (31), while Muzammil and Mehran Khan picked up a couple of wickets each.

In reply, Saudi Arab Rangers reached the target in scoring 177 for five n 13.3 overs with Amjad Khan (83) and Sanjay Kanoila (58) the main scorers and Vishawanath Parmar the best of the bowlers with three wickets. The event is organised by Bahrain Cricket Centre and KHK MMA Bahrain under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Honorary President of the Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities.

Six teams of 12 players from the GCC are competing in a round-robin format with four international players per team allowed. The tournament started last Wednesday and concludes this Friday with the final starting at 5pm.

Four teams will qualify for the semi-final round with the first on Thursday at 5pm, followed with the second semi-final on Friday at 1pm, followed by the final at 5pm.

For the remainder of the tournament, two matches will be played daily from today until Friday starting at 1pm and 5pm.

Emirates Hurrican 175-7 in 20 (Adil Qureshi 65, Touqeer 53; Mehtab Alam 2 wkts) bt Kuwait Crusaders 135ao in 16.2 (Tahir Khan 40, Naveed Ahmed 36; Vishawanath Parmar 5 wkts) by 40 runs.
