Emirates Hurricane defeat Oman Avengers

ManamaEmirates Hurricane completed its round-robin matches with a five-wicket victory yesterday over Oman Avengers in the 11th match of the Arabian Cricket Carnival T20 2017 at the Bahrain National Stadium in Riffa.

Batting first, Oman Avengers were dismissed for 147 in 19.1 overs with the main scorers being Shahzad Manna (37) and Aqib Ilyas (35), while Abdulla Azhar picked up three wickets for Emirates Hurricane.

In reply, Emirates Hurricane reached the target scoring 149 for five in just 14 over, thanks to a fine knock by Kapil Yadav (76), with Aman Bharti claiming two wickets.

Dubai Destroyers in the 12th match maintained its perfect record with a fourth win following a five-wicket win over Saudi Arab Rangers after the latter made 132 for five in its 20 overs, with Mehran Khan (43) top scoring and Jan Alam, Haseeb Amjad, N K Choudhry and S Khatri all claiming a wicket each.

The Dubai Destroyers then reached the target in scoring 135 for five in 19.1 overs thanks to a fine knock by J A Kolsawala (48), while Sanjay, Vashist, Ravikant Dillon and Yasir Nazir picked up a wicket each.

The event is organised by Bahrain Cricket Centre and KHK MMA Bahrain under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Honorary President of the Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities.

Six teams of 12 players from the GCC are competing in a round-robin format (which concludes tomorrow) with four international players per team allowed.

The tournament started last Wednesday and concludes this Friday with the final starting at 5pm.

For the remainder of the tournament, two matches will be played daily from today until Friday starting at 1pm and 5pm.

Tickets are available at the National Stadium all day from 12.30pm to 9pm and are priced at BD1, BD2, BD5, BD15 and BD30.
