Tamkeen, Bahrain Technology Society launch Tech award

Manama : Labour Fund “Tamkeen” and Bahrain Technology Society “BTECH” launched the first edition of the Bahrain Tech Award, which will be announced on Monday in Dubai. 

The announcement will be made on the sidelines of the Bahrain National Conference at GITEX held at the World Trade Center in Dubai from 8 to 12 October.

Bahrain Tech Awards ceremonies are widely regarded as the best networking opportunity in the IT industry as it will be attended by Country Pavilion exhibitors from GITEX, Dubai and Bahrain Government and Private Sectors, CIOs, Telecom Companies, and other executives.

Bahrain Labour Fund “Tamkeen” CEO Dr Ebrahim Mohammed Janahi said that the award aims at promoting Bahrain-based technology companies. 

“We in Tamkeen are working towards developing the Kingdom’s economy as well as stimulating the private sector to become a key driver of development,” Dr Janahi said in a statement on this occasion.

On his part, Ubaidly Al Ubaidly, President of (BTECH) said that Tamkeen’s launch of this Award in collaboration with BTECH comes as part of the strategic partnership between both parties which aims at boosting the IT and telecommunication sectors in Bahrain. “

“29 Nominations were received exclusively from this year’s Bahrain Pavilion at GITEX exhibition companies,” he explained.  

All the applications were reviewed and evaluated by an online jury consisting of international experts namely: Fadi Abdulkhalek – Oracle, Tareq Hijazi – Microsoft, Dr. Nasser Fouad – Suez Canal Government Zone, Dr. Fadi Aloul – American University of Sharjah, Nidal Bitar – Intaj Jordan and Paul Fengnan – Huawei Bahrain.
