Bahraini man killed in horrific crash in Oman

Manama : A horrific crash on Wednesday seriously injured a driver and killed a passenger on a highway in Sohar District in the northern parts of the Sultanate of Oman. 

The passenger was identified as 43-year-old, Ali Al Zeera, a Bahraini citizen.  

The mishap occurred when the driver, Al Zeera’s friend, apparently lost control of the vehicle, which then overturned multiple times before coming to a stop upside down. The force of the impact caused Al Zeera to be thrown out of the car and into the road, killing him instantly. Investigators said he was sleeping at the time of the accident. 

Al Zeera was running a business in Oman and frequently travels between the UAE and the Sultanate for the purpose. 

According to police, Al Zeera’s friend was driving him from UAE when the mishap occurred. 

According to the family of the deceased, the Bahraini Embassy in Oman took necessary steps to repatriate the body back to Bahrain.

He was laid to his last resting place in Hoora Graveyard in the Capital Governorate yesterday.

Ali Al Zeer is survived by his wife, three sons, four brothers and three sisters.
