Rushikesh to face Zaidan
Manama : Rushikesh Sunil will face off with Hajar Zaidan into today’s 10 years and under final using the International Tennis Federation (ITF) approved green balls at 5.30pm in the two-day Bahrain Tennis Federation (BTF) Unisex Junior Tennis Championships at its courts at the Polytechnic University in Isa Town.
In the quarter final round, Rushikesh defeated Qassim Fareed 6-0 games over one set and then won his semi-final 6-0 against Mohnish Bhadra.
Hajar meanwhile, advanced to the final thanks to a 6-4 win over Vyom Gupta in the quarter final and then a semi-final 6-0 victory over Noorie Akhtar.
In the 8 years and under played with the red ball, on a mini court with the winner being the first to win four games in a single set, the semi-finalists are Hashim Al Toobli who will play Salma Fares and Haider Al Fareed takes on Hussain Jalil with both matches at 5pm today.
Tournament Director and BTF coach Essam Abdul A’al said this tournament is an International Tennis Federation approved format under the Junior Tennis Initiative to discover, identify and develop future talent with a view to competing in regional and international competition in the future. It was also good too see the participation of six players from across the causeway from Saudi Arabia.”
