Red Arrows to perform today in Bahrain
Manama : The Red Arrows, officially known as the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, who are part of United Kingdom’s Royal Air Force, will perform in the Bahrain skies today evening. The team will perform for 20 minutes starting from 4pm.
Those who wish to see the display can gather at Reef Island or Karababad beach or Nurana Islands where the display will be best visible.
The Red Arrows are back in Bahrain after four years. They have performed 4800 displays in a span of more than 50 years since their first show in 1965.
“The display will take place near the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Seef. We advise the general public to go to one of the three locations -- Reef island, Karbabad beach or if you want the best view you can go to the nurana islands. You will get a spectacular view there,” said Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Price, Defense Attache at British Embassy during a press conference yesterday.
“We are here to represent Royal Air Force and the United Kingdom. We will hopefully have a great display, “ said Squadron Leader David Montenegro.
He said that the public can expect new maneuvers from last time. “Those who have seen the show four years ago can expect to see quite a few new maneuvers they have not seen. One particular maneuver that has been a crowd favourite this year is called the tornado and we will be performing it here,” Montenegro said.
