BD15m allotted for healthcare

ManamaHis Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has directed to allocate BD15 million for the Health Ministry’s budget for the remaining period of 2017, the government said in a statement yesterday.

The funds will be used to meet the expenses of medicines and medical equipment for hospitals and health centres affiliated with the Ministry of Health, the statement said.

“HRH the Prime Minister’s directives are within the framework of his constant follow-up on the requirements of the health sector to get assured about the sufficiency of medicines as well as medical equipment and services so that the sector assumes its role to the fullest,” the statement said.

Health Minister, Faeqa bint Said Al-Saleh has extended deepest thanks and appreciation to HRH Prime Minister for his sound directives.

She said that that the order embodies the Prime Minister’s personal interest about the requirements of the Kingdom’s citizens, especially regarding health.

The Health Minister has also directed the Health Ministry’s officials to follow-up on the matter following the Prime Minister’s order, particularly on the expenses of medicines and medical equipment. 

The minister said that she will personally ensure adequate provision for the requirements of patients and hospitals.

Highlighting the rising demand for the health services in the Kingdom,  the health minister stressed the Ministry’s keenness on cooperating and coordinating with the relevant authorities to implement the leadership’s directives to give top priority to health and  medical  services.
