Second Umpire course concludes

ManamaThe second Umpires and Line-Umpires course, under the supervision of the international referee Bahrain’s Ahmed Al-Hawaj, was conducted yesterday at the BTC premises in Juffair, in the presence of Mirza Al Sammak, Vice President of the Bahrain Tennis Club (BTC), Khalid Ghuloom Ali, Managing Director and Hamdi Abdul Jawad, Executive Director, and with the participation of more than 50 physical education teachers.

This course was initiated to prepare a new generation of chair referees and umpires and refresh current referees ahead of the ITF Bahrain International Youth Championships to be held at the club premises from October 23 to 28.

Abdul Jawad thanked Al Hawaj for his efforts and also the participation of the Ministry of Education and Bahraini Tennis Federation which ensured the success of the course.

The course included theory lectures supported by pictures and practical application in the stadiums of the club as explained in theory. At the end of the course, the Vice President of the club, Al Sammak presented certificates of participation to all participants and gave a copy of the club’s book to Al Hawaj.
