‘The Well’ hogs limelight

ManamaKhalid Bin Hamad Theatres Festival is playing a great role in the cultural and arts scenario in Bahrain, especially in empowering youth and providing the perfect environment to improve their artistic skills and capabilities, said Ibtissam Abdulla, popular Bahraini actress yesterday.

Ibtissam watched the third play stages at the festival titled “The Well” performed by actors of  Zallaq Youth Centre. The actress commended on the brilliant performance of the actors on stage. The play was directed by Yusuf Al-Sahhaf and performed by actors from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Palestine. In addition to them, 11-year-old Bahraini actor Abdul-Ilah Ali also participated in the play. 

The actress appreciated the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and his humanitarian and cultural initiatives that support the Bahraini youth and people with disabilities, adding that organising the festival for the third consecutive year proves the success of these initiatives.The organising committee awarded Palestinian rising talent Sarah as the best actor in the play, considering her exceptional performance on stage. Jamal Saqr, Bahraini Actor and Critic, praised the entire crew of Zallaq Youth Centre for staging the play that caught the attention of the audience throughout the show.

Preparations are in full swing to stage “The Wishes of Amina” organised by Hamad Town Youth Centre, which is scheduled for today, the fifth day of the festival. The team announced that the play has a lineup of experienced Bahraini actors Al-Bassam Ali and Zakariya Al-Shaikh.   

Khalid Bin Hamad Theatres Festival For National Clubs, Youth Centres and People With Disability is organised for the third consecutive year by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa under by the patronage of His Highness. It is organised as part of Khalid Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa Initiatives to support the youth and engage them with different events and activities.
