iGA Chief says will expand services
Manama : Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) Chief Executive Mohamed Ali AlQaed highlighted the royal praise of the results achieved by the ICT sector in the Kingdom – based on His Majesty’s vision.
AlQaed explained that Bahrain has established a solid foundation for sustainable development and its advancement – making the citizens the core objective.
“His Majesty paid special attention to the ICT sector so as to advance in the services, delivered to citizens and residents, which today are keeping abreast with the latest and best technology practices in developed, most advanced and high in readiness countries.”
He said that the Government of Bahrain has promptly recognized the importance of establishing a solid infrastructure for the IT sector to support the development boom.
AlQaed further added that the Kingdom has witnessed a quantum leap in the ICT sector and its uses; making Bahrain one of the advanced countries in this arena to establish new industries in the region and leading it to attract the largest global companies to the Kingdom – leading it to become a regional hub for investment to create new job opportunities.
AlQaed highlighted that the Kingdom has achieved remarkable progress in the UN eGovernment Survey, its maintenance of advanced positions, positioning itself within the top leading ranks four times in a row since 2010 and attaining the first place amongst the Arab countries in the eGovernment readiness.
AlQaed also stressed that the authority will move ahead with its role to achieve sustainability in the quality of government services provided for the public in various means.
“The iGA will work on increasing the number of public services delivered online as they are one of the tools that contribute to the success of the upcoming phase of government direction and to achieve His Majesty’s aspirations. “
