Theatre fest continues to enthral audience
Manama : The third Khalid Bin Hamad Theatres Festival For National Clubs, Youth Centres and People With Disability continues to enthral the audience, with Jasrah Youth Centre performing its play ‘Cliche’ on the seventh day of the festival.
The play directed by Isa Al-Sindeed, featuring young Bahraini actors and actresses such as Omar Al-Saeedi and Fouz Al-Sharqawi, was well received by audience and critics.
The day also turned out to be a star-studded affair with several celebrities and well-known personalities making an appearance at the venue, including Moroccan Critic Abdulnasser Fathallah.
Expressing his appreciation to the members of the Jasrah Youth Centre, Fathallah also shared his opinion regarding their performances.
Moanes Al-Mardy, Head of Bahrain Journalists Association and Chief Editor of Al-Bilad Newspaper and Yusuf Al-Binkhalil, Chief Editor of Al-Watan Newspaper were also present at the venue.
They expressed their appreciation and commended the efforts paid by HH Shaikh Khalid to support the youth, cultural and sports movements in the Kingdom.
The 18-day festival will witness the performances of 12 teams. This year’s edition is themed #Let’s_Plant_A_Smile and aims at empowering the youth in the fields of arts, cultural and humanitarian works.
“Choice Master”, the ninth show at the festival, directed by Mohammed Ali will be performed by Buhair Youth Centre on Friday. The show begins at 7:30 pm.
The festival, held as part of the initiatives by Shaikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa to support Bahraini youth, will conclude on 21 October. The event is being held at the Muharraq Model Youth Centre in Busaiteen.
Batelco telecom partner
Batelco yesterday announced becoming the telecommunications partner of the third Khalid Bin Hamad Theatres Festival For National Clubs, Youth Centres and People With Disability.
The move was welcomed by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Honorary President of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities.
Announcing the decision, Osama Al-Saad, Batelco CEO, said: “Khalid Bin Hamad Theatres Festival For National Clubs, Youth Centres and People With Disability has become an event that is annually awaited by the youth of Bahrain.”
