Bahraini wins international Quran competition
Manama : Bahraini Abdulla Janahi ranked first in the 39th King Abdul Aziz international competition for memorizing Quran – in the category of 15 sections (Juz’).
His compatriot Bahraini Ali Youssef fared well finishing fourth in the category of full Holy Quran memorization.
Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry Undersecretary for Islamic Affairs Dr. Shaikh Farid bin Yacoub Al-Meftah congratulated the wise leadership on the landmark achievement.
He made the statement as he welcomed the winners at Bahrain International Airport protocol hall on their return from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, hailing the royal directives and the support of the Government to promote the Holy Quran programmes.
Dr. Al-Meftah expressed pride the honorable ranks achieved by Bahraini contestants who participated at international Holy Quran competitions.
The King Abdulaziz International Competition for Holy Quran Memorization, Recitation and Interpretation, which is organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call, and Guidance, attracts participants from all Arab and Islamic countries as well Muslim minorities.
