‘Cases’ sheds light on Bahrain’s society

Manama : The audience was amused and delighted at the enthralling performance of Budaiya Cultural and Sports Club, as their play “Cases” shed light on several social phenomena and issues within the Bahraini society. 

The play was staged as part of the third edition of the Khalid bin Hamad Theatres Festival for National Clubs, Youth Centres and People with Disability, held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, the First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Honorary President of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities.

Mubarak Al-Dossary was selected to receive the best-actor award in the play. He was honoured by veteran Bahraini actor and TV presenter, Mohammed Yaseen, who is also known as Baba Yaseen.

Yaseen said that the festival is a humanitarian gesture by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa to support the youth, cultural and sports movements in the Kingdom and people who are differently abled.  The organising committee honoured Yaseen for being part of the festival and interacting with the participating teams of the youth.

The tenth show in the festival is titled “Refuge” and will be performed by Shakhoora Youth Centre on Saturday. The plot of the play directed by Bahraini Female Director Ohood Sabt revolves around the love of the homeland and contradictions in the society.

Khalid bin Hamad Theatres Festival is held annually as part of initiatives to support the youth and to help them engage in different activities.

This year’s edition is themed #Let’s_Plant_A_Smile and aims at empowering the youth in the fields of arts, cultural and humanitarian works.

The event is organised for the third consecutive year by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Media Office of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa

The festival held at Muharraq Model Youth Centre in Busaiteen was launched by Hisham bin Mohammed Al-Jowder, the Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs, on behalf of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa. The event continues until 21st of this month.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa thanked the company, affirming that the supportive stances of Alba, one of the leading establishments in Bahrain, will be a motivation to pay more efforts to develop the Bahraini art and cultural movement among the youth.
