Man arrested in Bahrain for beating up ex-wife
Manama : Police have arrested a man for beating his ex-wife and damaging her vehicle in Muharraq Governorate.
The victim lodged a complaint to Muharraq Police Station and stated that her ex-husband brutally assaulted her injuring her badly. She also alleged that the attacker rammed into her car using his own vehicle. Muharraq Governorate Prosecution Head Abdulla Al Dossary confirmed in a statement that the prosecution was notified by the police station about the case. He said the prosecution immediately launched its investigations into the case.
“The prosecution heard the testimony of the victim and ordered a medical examination by the coroner to determine the injuries she suffered and its causes. The suspect was also interrogated and detained while investigations continue. He was accused of assault and damaging property, and will be soon referred to the criminal court,” Al Dossary said.
This is the second domestic violence case to be reported in the Kingdom in less than two months. A woman was brutally beaten up by her ex-husband last month in a similar scenario. The man was sentenced by the Lower Criminal Court on October 3 to one year of imprisonment for assault.
