GPIC wins top award

Manama Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) Chairman Dr. Ahmed Al Sharyan has congratulated the Management and employees on the Company winning the Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Award (Rospa Gold Award), in recognition of its outstanding achievements in the field of safety.

He said the Award comes as a result of the company’s approach to ensuring the highest standards of safety in its operations and in reaffirming a high level of safety
awareness.

GPIC President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery, who presented the Award to the Chairman during the recently concluded Middle East Process Engineering Conference, 2017, said this was in appreciation of the Board’s balanced policies and its keenness to follow up on the implementation of principles of safety and in maintaining its achievements.

He said the company’s winning the Award is culmination of many years of excellence in safety. He added this was also evident since the Company has been winning for the last 25 years the Rospa Award for safety at the workplace.

Dr Jawahery had earlier received the Award during an event in London, to coincide with the 100th anniversary celebrations of Rospa.

The Award came GPIC’s way after competing with more than 5,500 companies around the world, making it an unprecedented achievement in the history of the global chemicals sector.
