BTEA to host ‘Sea Festival’ and ‘Bahrain Light Festival’

ManamaBahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) yesterday unveiled plans to host the second edition of the ‘Sea Festival’ and the ‘Bahrain Light Festival’. 

During a press conference held at Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay, the authority said that the ‘Sea Festival’ will be held from 26th of October until 4th of November 2017. The ‘Bahrain Light Festival’ will be held from 23rd - 30th November 2017. 

“The festivals will include a series of fun and exciting events for the whole family,” said Chief Executive Officer of BTEA, Shaikh Khaled bin Humood Al Khalifa  

The ‘Sea Festival’ features a number of activities, including the Techno Aqua World area for games and leisure activities, a central display related to the history of pearl diving, and the 360 virtual reality gaming zone. 

The festival will also include a designated area for pearl and jewellery merchants, a painting zone where children will be able to showcase their painting skills by participating in the dhow painting activity, in addition to several live performances. Furthermore, the outdoor area will include a painting zone where artists will have live painting demonstration dhows that will be displayed throughout the festival.

Other activities include de-shelling oysters; free diving shows, and many more. The festival will take place from Saturday to Thursday from 4pm to 10pm and from 4pm to 11pm on Friday. Tickets are priced at BD2 per person and free for children under the age of 4.

The ‘Bahrain Light Festival’ aims to showcase technical artistic dynamics; the latest innovations in lighting by artists from France, Japan and the United States of America, and will also include remarkable artistic performances

Hosting these festivals comes in line with the BTEA’s strategy to develop the tourism sector under the slogan of ‘Ours. Yours.’.
