Long time Bahrain resident leaving

Manama : Clement Vinayak, who has been in Bahrain for 43 years is now retiring from the position of Manager of Al Madar General Trading Establishment. He would be moving back to his hometown Bengaluru in India.

After 10 years in a Heavy Engineering factory in India, Clement had arrived in Bahrain in 1974,  to join Gray MacKenzie Co., in their mercantile department selling their technical products.

In the 1980s, he joined its successor company Bahrain Maritime & Mercantile (BMMI) in the same position. 

And, later, in 1996, when BMMI divested their engineering section, he joined Al Madar General Trading Establishment and contributed to its development to its current stature. 

Among the many roles he had taken up in the Toastmasters movement in Bahrain, was that of the President of the Manama Toastmasters Club. He is currently the second seniormost member, for 28 years, at this club which is the first Toastmasters club established in the Middle East region in 1964. Clement was the winner of 1994 Humourous Speech Contest in the region.

He and his wife Mary have two daughters and one granddaughter. Their elder daughter is settled in U.S.A. and their younger one is in Bengaluru, India.
