President of Cengage International Alexander Broich and UOB president Professor Riyad Hamzah led the opening of the center.
The National Geographic Learning resource center at UOB builds on an existing partnership based on English language learning for the University’s orientation year students. The new center is a state of the art facility that enables students to accelerate English language development through a combination of technology and 7000 new books provided by NGL. Up to 3,000 students daily will have access to the center and its learning resources through a combination of direct access and online platforms.
President of UOB "This partnership is a wonderful investment in not just UOB, our students but also in Bahrain. Through the NGL resource center, we are able to help improve our students’ English language skills but also enhance their critical thinking and creativity in a vibrant and state of the art setting. We are delighted to be long-term partners with NGL who have already delivered leading edge and personalized learning resources for both students and teachers. We expect to see improved student outcomes through the investment in learning resources, technology and our teaching".
