Deputy King pledges unwavering support
Manama : Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in his meeting with outgoing UK Defence Senior Advisor, yesterday pledged to continue Bahrain’s strategic support to its international and regional allies.
During his discussion with outgoing Defence Senior Advisor, Middle East, at the UK Ministry of Defence, Lieutenant-General, Tom Beckett, Prince Salman recognised the important role the United Kingdom plays in strengthening security cooperation.
The discussions held at Riffa Palace focused on latest international and regional developments.
Prince Salman extended thanks to the outgoing Defence Senior Advisor, wishing him every success in his future endeavours.
Deputy King also welcomed the newly-appointed Defence Senior Advisor Middle East, Lieutenant-General John Lorimer, and wished him success in his new role.
Prince Salman highlighted the long-standing ties between the Kingdom and the United Kingdom.
Meets CM of Jersey
Separately, HRH Prince Salman held discussions with Chief Minister of Jersey, Senator Ian Gorst, to bolster financial and investment sector collaboration at Riffa Palace.
During the meeting, HRH Deputy King stressed Bahrain’s eagerness to develop its economic partnerships, and further develop opportunities for growth and collaboration across all sectors.
The Deputy King and the Chief Minister discussed various aspects of joint cooperation between Bahrain and Jersey, particularly in regard to the financial and investment sectors.
Rasheed Al Maraj, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, also attended the meeting.
