Bahrain nationals arrested in India

HyderabadThe police have arrested two Bahrain nationals and a Qazi, who were involved in illegal child marriages in Hyderabad, India, The Hindu newspaper reported yesterday. 

According to police, the accused are Mohamed Mahmood Abdul Rehman Mahmood, and Yousuf Mahmood Abdul Rahman Mahmood Khairi, both Bahrain Nationals, Askar Ali Rafai, city-based Qazi and Mohd Barkathullah Sharif. 

“After a minor girl marriage case registered with Falaknuma Police in August, investigation was on the illegal marriages in Old City with strong network right from the arrival of them at the airport and to the marriage as per choice and departure of them to respective countries,” said V. Satyanarayana, DCP, South Zone.

Police nabbed two Bahrain nationals, a Qazi and a lodge owner who were indulged in international trafficking of minor girls in the name of marriages with a mala fide intention.

Due to the tough going by the police on illegal marriages, they were choosing other places in and around the city. The accused and the Qazi had performed the marriage at Tolichowki and got shelter in a private guest house with the help of the owner Mohammed Barkathullah Sharif. They created fake certificates to perform marriages, the police said.
