iGA finishes preparations for health check
Manama : The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) yesterday announced the completion of technical modifications ahead of the implementation of the expatriate workers pre-employment health check procedures – a new programme in collaboration with the private sector that will reduce the waiting time to receive an appointment from three months to just one week.
The timeframe currently required to issue a medical certificate will also be reduced from one month to one week following the completion of health checks.
Commenting on the IT support preparations, the CEO of iGA outlined the details of the new IT systems designed to operate the programme.
So far, the iGA has developed two IT programmes that will act as internal control systems at the licensed private medical facilities.
The iGA has also devised a series of IT protocols that maintain optimum security and accuracy during health check and data processing.
As part of its preparatory work, the iGA has delivered technical training workshops at 14 different private medical facilities. A total of 65 doctors and administrative personnel have been introduced to the new system.
