BMS announces launch of ‘CME’

Manama : The Bahrain Medical Society (BMS) yesterday announced launching its new website www.bhmedsoc.com, a new upgraded Bahrain Medical Society Journal (JBMS) as well as new Continuing Medical Education (CME) programmes in collaboration with Healthminds and GE healthcare through Abdul Aziz Kanoo Foundation. The move, according to Dr Manaf Al Qahtani, Vice President of BMS, marks the beginning of a new chapter for BMS.  

Bahrain Medical Society is the official medical society in the Kingdom, which was established in 1972. The society represents all the physicians working in the kingdom and promotes the advancement of all medical services and practices.

“It is an honour to launch our new website, a further launch of our new JBMS Web platform and most of all the introduction of our new CME courses in collaboration with Healthminds and GE healthcare through Abdul Aziz Kanoo Foundation,” said Dr Al Qahtani.

The Journal management system, Dr Manaf said, aims at providing medical professionals and researchers alike, “with more freedom and latitude when publishing new articles.” He further pointed out that the new upgraded BMS journal allows authors to submit, review and publish articles with ease. “Further, the launch of the new CME courses provide a chance for doctors and students to continue learning new trends and technologies,” he added.

The programme, Dr. Manaf said, is aimed at medical professionals who are interested in getting a more hands-on training as well as theoretical knowledge in various fields like cardiology, radiology, vascular medicine etc. 

“I would also further like to thank Bader Bin Abdul Aziz Kanoo who has been a pillar of support for our Journal as well as the CME programmes, Deputy Minister of Health, Director of Public Health, Director of Primary Health for their continuous support in the medical field,” Dr Manaf added. 

Chairman of the Board of Directors Dr. Mohamed Abdullah Rafie of BMS further emphasised that the portal will enable the association to strengthen its ability to move forward.
