New Guinness record for Bahrain
Manama : Bahrain yesterday successfully entered the Guinness World Records for hosting the biggest awareness lecture on diabetes.
A total of 1, 577 people attended the seminar, which was held as part of Health Ministry’s celebrations of the World Diabetes Day annually marked on November 14.
The event was patronised and attended by Supreme Council for Health Chairman Lieutenant General Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, who addressed the audience in a speech that included important figures in relation to diabetes patients locally and globally, in addition to the means to combat the quick spread of the disease among younger generations.
Around 1,000 public schools’ students attended the seminar, which was also attended by Health Minister Faeqa bint Saeed Al Saleh. The minister dedicated the achievement to the Wise Leadership and the people of Bahrain.
