Capital Governorate launches new website, smartphone app

Manama : The Capital Governorate announced launching a new website and a smartphone application dubbed “My Capital” in cooperation with the Information eGovernment Authority (IGA) to “modernise and develop channels of communication with the people”.

The announcement was made during a press conference held at the governorate’s building in Gudaibiya on Tuesday.  Governor of Capital Governorate Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, United Nations Development (UNDP) Resident Representative Amin Al Sharqawi and the Acting CEO of Electronic Transformation at IGA Dr Zakariya Al Khaja were present.

Outlining the benefits of the newly launched facilities, Shaikh Hisham said: “‘My Capital’ app allows people to communicate and submit their proposals and complaints directly to the governorate.”

The application and the new website form part of the government initiatives to enhance the efficiency of public institutions and improve the quality of the government services through direct and rapid response to proposals and complaints.

“This fulfils the objectives of the government’s strategy and the national strategy of the e-government to facilitate responsiveness and communication with the citizens and residents in the Kingdom of Bahrain,” Dr Al Khaja said.
