Licenses suspended for lane violations
Manama : The General Directorate of Traffic has suspended the driving licenses of three motorists for emergency (yellow) lane related violations.
The directorate confirmed that the drivers were caught in November while improperly overtaking other vehicles using the yellow lane, and that their licenses were suspended for three months.
The directorate also clarified that the violating motorists were detected by cameras used by the directorate’s operations room.
The new traffic law implemented in 2015 instructs to suspend the licenses of drivers who cross 20 points in the traffic violations accumulating points system, and that violators should pass an awareness course organised by the directorate before they could reclaim their licenses.
