Capital gears up for National Day

Manama : More than 20,000 people are expected to participate in this year’s National Day Celebration at Water Garden City Project. 

The event, which will be held on 15th December, includes a “number of surprises, entertainment and firework for visitors,” said Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Governor of the Capital Governorate, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for the celebration of the National Day and His Majesty the King’s 2017 Summit. 

Shaikh Hisham, during the meeting held at the Capital Governorate, said that this year’s celebration is held in partnership with the Capital Secretariat Council. 

Commenting, Mohammad Ali Al Khozai, Chairman of the Capital Secretariat Council, said, “20,000 people participated last year and this year we are expecting more.”

The meeting highlighted various works that need special attention including traffic regulation, the arrangement of public toilets, the safety of visitors, monitoring of stalls, restaurants
and more. 

The meeting was attended by Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Director General of Capital Municipality, Vice-Chairman of the Festive Higher Committee, Mohammad Ali Al Khozai, Chairman of the Capital Secretariat Council and a number of officials in the Governorate and the Secretariat.
