Bahrain’s exports at BD170m in October
Manama : The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) had issued its foreign trade report of October 2017 which encompasses balance of trade, imports, exports (National Origin) and re-exports. The imports value has reached about BD439 million, while the top ten countries account for 67 per cent of the imports value and 33pc for other countries.
According to the report, China was ranked as the first country that exports to Bahrain with BD53m, United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the second with BD36m whereas Japan ranked third with BD35m.
Non-agglomerated ores and concentrates emerged as the top product imported to Bahrain with BD24m, while four-wheel drive cars as the second with BD23m. AC generators were the third products with BD14m during October 2017.
Additionally, the value of the exported national origin has reached approximately BD170m. The top ten countries account for 82pc of the exported national origin value and 18pc for other countries.
Saudi Arabia was ranked as the first country importing from Bahrain with BD41m; Sultanate of Oman the second with BD26m and United States of America comes third place with BD16m.
As for exported products, agglomerated iron ores and concentrates emerged as the top products exported in October 2017 with BD32m; Aluminum wires were positioned second products exported with a value of BD23m; whereas semi-finishing iron and steel stood third place for exported products with BD15m.
In regards to the re-exported field, the value has reached BD47m. The top ten countries account for 93pc of the re-exported value and 7pc for other countries. Saudi Arabia was ranked as the first country to re-export from Bahrain with BD22m, China ranked as the second with BD8m, and UAE as the third with BD6m.
Four-wheel drive cars emerged as the top product re-exported from Bahrain with BD11.3m, cigarettes came as second products with BD3m and public type vehicles with compression-ignition came as the third with BD2.1m.
The trade balance, difference between exports and imports, increase in the value of the deficit in October reaching an amount of BD222m.
