New ISSF board elected
Manama : A new board for the 2017-2020 electoral term has been elected at the 10 th General Assembly of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Turki Al Shaikh, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the National Olympic Committee in Saudi Arabia, has been elected uncontested as the President of the ISSF.
Supreme Council for Youth and Sports deputy general secretary and Bahrain Olympic Committee general secretary Abdulrahman Askar headed the Bahrain side for the meeting, in which a full report on the federation activities was reviewed.
Among other discussed subjects were the formation of a polling committee as well as approval of the previous general assembly report and a presentation of Islamic countries’ sports development strategy.
