Disability is not an obstacle: HH Shaikh Nasser
Manama : Ironman 70.3 Bahraini contestant Shaikha Al Shaiba was honoured by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa during the closing ceremony of the contest. “Her achievement sends the message that disability is not an obstacle in making champions,” said Shaikh Nasser, the Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee. Expressing joy at her achievement, Al Shaiba told Shaikh Nasser that her participation was a statement to the world that “physical disability is not an impediment to achieving ambitions and that loyalty to one’s goals can overcome obstacles.” HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association, presented a special award to Shaikha Al Shaiba.
